I love it when I
hit a home run. An
excerpt from an email.. an associate's email I
try to find just the right companions for "Fit Over 40" and the unique demographic
that we, as post-40 fitness enthusiasts, constitute.
Many thanks for the
emails I've received regarding the two e-books added a few days ago to
the Fit Over 40 Deluxe Package.
Frank's blood pressure "manifesto" is the
real deal...and it's helping thousands get the Silent Killer under control...many
before it's ever a problem.
I let blood pressure sneak up on me. And,to
be honest, I waited too long to treat it. My recent bout with gout (that rhymes)
is a testimony to the fact my kidneys are a bit weaker than normal.
Why?
Blood pressure.
That's right -- even though my BP is now absolutely
ideal, it was once 210/110...and that is going to harm the internal organs.
So
take a lesson from me and take action before it's an issue -- or, if you are on
drugs for blood pressure, at least give these wonderful all-natural solutions
a shot.
Dear Reader,
Let's continue on with the three key tests
for inflammation in the body.
Remember: this is the "possible cause
of all degenerative disease". Take it seriously.**
My own addition
:)... Check out Dr. Barry Sears And His Battle With The Silent Killer...INFLAMMATION

Sears Books.
As
I said Monday...I created the 'very best diet' for lowering your inflammation.
It's in "Fit Over 40" (The Modified Bass Meal Plan, in Chapter 4: "Inner
Fuel.")

Now, let's get to the tests. They're cheap,
and they may just save your life.
(Oh, a big P.S. -- you burn much more
body fat when inflammation is low. I'll explain next week...)
The
Top Three: Blood Tests For Inflammation
1, SED RateThis is short
for "sedimentation rate", or the rate at which your red blood cells (erythrocytes)
settle in a test tube in one hour.
Folks, this is an important test. From
WebMD:
"When inflammation is present in the body, certain proteins cause
red blood cells to stick together and fall more quickly than normal to the
bottom of the tube.
"These proteins are produced by the liver and the immune
system under many abnormal conditions, such as an infection, an autoimmune
disease, or cancer."
On my anti-inflammatory diet as described in "Fit
Over 40", I took my SED rate from 12 (very high) to 1 (excellent). No drugs
were needed.
2. hsCRP This 'new' test (it has been around for years, but
Nightline loves to label things as 'new') costs about $20 and could save your
life.
CRP is an inflammatory marker, one of the best we've found so far,
that points to underlying heart disease. Fish oil helps CRP, as does (ha-ha!)
exercise and stress reduction. High saturated fat intake has been linked to
elevated CRP, but that doesn't mean we have to be vegetarians. (A lot of vegetarians
die from heart disease as well.)
3. Lp(a) Elevated plasma levels of
Lp(a) are associated with increased risk for atherosclerosis and its cousins --
myocardial infarction, stroke and restenosis.
Lp(a) is very stubborn, but
tends to respond well to high levels of fish oil or krill oil, vitamin E, and
(under a doctor's care) niacin therapy.
